Here's what makes it different: in laboratory testing, its luminous transmittance measured 7.617% (left) and 7.453% (right). Category 4 covers 3% to 8%, which puts the 3620Wbrb less than 0.6% away from the Category 3 threshold. Q: Will Category 4 lenses be too dark?
A: No. Lab testing shows about 7.5% light transmission, less than 0.6% from the Category 3 threshold of 8%, so they feel almost as bright as standard Category 3 sunglasses. Because they are officially rated Category 4, they are not suitable for driving or road use, and should be removed once light becomes dim.
Q: Can I wear them over my prescription glasses?
A: Yes, if your glasses are no wider than 14.8 cm (5.8 in) and no taller than 4.3 cm (1.7 in). However, because the lenses have a multilayer mirror coating, you may notice faint reflections (ghosting) at certain angles when worn over glasses. This doesn't happen when worn on their own.
